The first impression takes 24–48 hours. After that it’s still new for a while, and what you do in the next few weeks is what makes the space stick. Here’s a rhythm that works, and what to check if the first week feels slow.

The rhythm

There’s no formula, but a pattern most artists settle into:
  • Post to Direct Line a couple of times a week. A photo and a sentence counts. A voice note counts. “Should I do this or that?” counts. Easy beats polished.
  • When you post to Direct Line, post about it on your Instagram Story the same day. “New voice note on my Kollekt” with a link sticker. That’s how new fans keep arriving week after week.
  • Drop into Chat when you feel like it. Heart a few messages, reply to one or two. Ten minutes is enough.
  • Don’t copy-paste your Instagram content. Fans who joined Kollekt joined for something they don’t get on Instagram. Voice notes, demos, studio moments, the personal stuff.
How often you post matters more than how much. Fans start to expect it and check for it.

Loop back from your other platforms

Most new fans will keep arriving from Instagram and TikTok. Every Kollekt post is a reason to post about it on your Story. Be specific. “Just dropped a voice note about [thing] on my Kollekt” works better than a generic “I’m on Kollekt!” Add one line to your next TikTok or YouTube caption too: “more of this on my Kollekt.” That’s enough.

If the first week feels slow

A quiet first week is normal. Instagram Stories only reach a slice of your followers, and most fans need to see a post about Kollekt more than once before they tap through. Before you tell them again, a few things to check:
  • Is the link in your bio live, and does it open your Kollekt page? Open it in a private browsing window to see what fans see.
  • Does your Home look ready? Cover photo, artist name, at least one Direct Line post. If fans tapped through to an empty page, they’re unlikely to come back.
  • Did you mention what fans actually get? “Voice notes and the stuff I don’t post anywhere else” is more tappable than “join my Kollekt.”
  • Did you share in more than one place? One Story rarely does it. Feed post, close-fan DMs, next TikTok.
If any of those are off, fix them first. Then wait a couple of weeks before posting about it again. When you do, point at something specific like a new track, a voice note, or a show. Not just Kollekt itself.

Still slow after a couple of weeks

  • DM 10 close fans individually. Not a mass DM. One at a time. This is the move that works best.
  • Check every bio. Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X. Kollekt link should be in all of them. See Add Kollekt to your social bios.
